Meet Chris Connor, the owner and test pilot of Connor Wood Bicycles. Chris started building bikes out of a love for riding fun bikes and a passion for wood working. Chris describes working with wood bikes as being able to design and build "rolling works of art."

WBS: What type of bikes do you build?
Chris: I build a full range of bikes from cruisers & city bikes, gravel, mountain (in a number of wheel and tire combinations) as well as fat bikes.
WBS: Do you typically build bikes to order? Do you offer custom builds?
Chris: All bikes are built to order and most are delivered as custom builds.
WBS: What types of wood do you typically use?
Chris: White ash is my preferred wood but black walnut is what most people order.
WBS: What do you love most about building wood bicycles?
Chris: It is the best way to combine craftsmanship and performance in the world. There is no other magic quite as compelling as riding a beautiful wood bicycle in a beautiful setting.
WBS: What has been the biggest challenge / obstacle to success?
Chris: Wood bikes take a long time to build and design. Many people just don't believe that a wood bike can really work and therefore are sometimes hesitant to make the necessary financial commitment. Of course, defying this misconception is so much of what makes riding a wood bicycle special.
WBS: What do you wish people knew about wood bicycles?
